This story originally appeared at American Web Media.Model-turned-mom Chrissy Teigen is known for having an opinion, not all of which sit well with all of her 18 million Instagram followers. One example is a recent picture of Teigen — who is also married to musician John Legend — breastfeeding her new baby, Miles, and one of her daughter Luna’s dolls.“Luna making me feed her babydoll, so I guess I have twins now,” Teigen captioned the image, which appeared to draw swells of both affection and hate.
“Just because it’s normal doesn’t mean the world wants to see it. Just saying,” one user wrote.Another suggested Teigen clearly suffered from an abundance of leisure time. “I think you have too much time on your hands posting pictures of you breastfeeding? Seriously, that’s personal and yes natural but don’t broadcast it all over.”Unfortunately, the backlash just kept coming. “Menstruating, childbirth and sex are natural, too, but that doesn’t mean I want to see pics of it and/or celebrities like @chrissyteigen taking a bath or nursing,” another person tweeted. The swell of virtual negativity might have drawn an apology from a less self-assured woman, but Teigen is equally known for her no-nonsense demeanor and quick humor. “Calm your t*ts,” she shot back.
“I don’t care to see grainy fireworks, Coachella selfies or infinity pool pics but I let people live. Calm your t*ts and scroll on by,” the model mom wrote.Another hater speculated that Teigen’s sharing of a private moment was a symptom of narcissism, but Teigen shot this idea down, too. “Nah. Just chillin. Posting daily life like I do with anything else. Cooking, playing with dogs, etc.,” she wrote. “You make feeding a baby big deal because you got weird t*tty issues.”Regardless, Teigen’s deft handling of these Twitter trolls reminded the world why the model-turned-mom remains a social media darling. Now people are even more enthralled with Teigen’s “momming” than before! What do you think about this story? Are breastfeeding pictures acceptable social media fodder or is this model mom oversharing?
