What can you do TODAY to make someone’s day a little brighter?

Why not think about making kindness the norm, rather than the exception?

Here are some ideas from the OncoLink team to #choosekind and #explorethegood today—or any day. And remember, it’s not about recognition— it’s just about doing something out of the kindness of our hearts.

  • Tell someone you are thinking of them.
  • Drop off a favorite meal.
  • Mail or drop off a gift card for the local grocery store.
  • Getting groceries delivered? Text your neighbors and see if you can add anything to your order for them.
  • Take their dog for a walk.
  • Text or call. There is something to be said for the old saying, “reach out and touch someone.”
  • Shovel the sidewalk.
  • Send a card.
  • In the drive-thru? Pay for the order of the car behind you.
  • Pick up trash while out for your walk.
  • Notice a nearly expired parking meter? Drop-in a quarter or two and add some extra time.
  • Send a special treat-you can get almost anything delivered these days!
  • Leave out bottles of water and snacks for delivery folks.
  • Thank a co-worker for their contributions to a project.

There really is no wrong way to participate in random acts of kindness day.
