Hannah Catton was finally diagnose with ovarian cancer after years of complaining about pains to her doctors.

The 24-year-old woman, who moved from Kent to Australia in 2019, experienced symptoms of bloating, irregular periods, always feeling full, and frequent urinary tract infections for years.

While Catton’s prognosis is good, others aren’t so lucky.

She is now using her story to raise awareness and to help other women advocate for themselves more and request additional tests when they feel like something is wrong.

“It is hard. It is harder to know a lot of my treatment could have been avoided,” she wrote on Facebook. “I want my story to change this for the next young woman who walks into a Dr with generic symptoms. I want them to be listened to, I want them to be offered more than I was, to be supported by their GP more than I was.”
